Back to the Crosstown, it won't because that's a silly way to do it. But it's also certainly been done elsewhere around the planet for any number of different reasons.

A transformer can't convert AC to DC or DC to AC. For the former, you need a rectifier, for the latter, you need an inverter.

probbobly more for construction workers than members of the public, loys of times now when thy are working around power lines they put up signs that say danger due to overhead powerlines.

Agreed. It probably has to do with the OHSA as well as liability. If they don't post signage and people start touching live wires they can be sued for not making people aware (and probably lose).
 
The Virtual presentation for Crosstown Central East from Laird to the Science Centre was released today. It contains an interesting new section on East Testing and Commissioning. I swear every presentation they introduce a brand new map like this, and each and every time its full of mistakes or looks bad.

EDIT: Looking at the map itself, they're now planning 15 minute all day service to Aldershot? That's new

That's why that section of the 407 transitway makes sense for when the Young North extension is built. Unionville to 407 station on line 1, providing a rapid connection between the Stoufville line, Young Line, Barrie Line, and Spadina Line.
