How far west of Mount Dennis can they go now?

I'll have to check this out once the main section opens. I haven't been out there for years, other than flying past too quick on the GO-UP.
To the station only until 2031/32 and what I saw today is in the east end

Are those names final? Surely Jane-Eglinton should at least be Eglinton Flats. It does though get difficult after that.
If 'Dundas' and 'Dundas West' both existing are a problem, then surely 'Eglinton' and 'Eglinton Flats' run afoul of the same trouble, no?

We have lots of multiple names. Including a Lawrence West, Lawrence, and (often) a Lawrence East. The problem with Dundas West is it's not intuitive. The problem with Bloor is that it's literally the same name as what's on the Yonge subway platforms (and then there's the Mount Pleasant absurdity, and the the East Harbour/West Harbour own goal).

RFPs closed for Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Stations, Rail and Systems

ReNew Canada
May 12, 2025

The Request for Proposals (RFP) stage has closed for teams submitting bids for the Stations, Rail and Systems (SRS) package for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE). The SRS package includes design and construction of seven stations and installation of rail and systems for the 9.2-kilometre extension, as well as works at the existing Mount Dennis Station to connect the ECWE with future Eglinton Crosstown LRT service.

Following a fair, open and transparent Request for Qualifications process, three teams were prequalified and invited to respond to an RFP in September 2024. The SRS package is being delivered using a progressive design-build delivery model. The following teams submitted proposals by the deadline:

Integrated Transit Partners
  • Applicant Leads: Sacyr Canada Inc., NGE Contracting Inc., and Clearway Construction Inc.
  • Design Team: Hatch Ltd., Egis Canada Ltd., and Weston Williamson Partners Ltd.
  • Construction Team: NGE Contracting Inc., Sacyr Canada Inc., and Clearway Construction Inc.
Trillium Rail Partners
  • Applicant Leads: Amico Major Projects Inc., Alberici Constructors, Ltd., and Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc.
  • Design Team: WSP Canada Inc.
  • Construction Team members: Amico Major Projects Inc., Alberici Constructors Ltd., and Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc.
WestEx Transit Solutions
  • Applicant Leads: Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., Pomerleau Major Projects Inc., and Flatiron Dragados Canada, Inc.
  • Design Team: AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. and Arcadis Professional Services
  • Construction Team: Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., Pomerleau Major Projects Inc., and Flatiron Dragados Canada, Inc.
Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx are evaluating proposals, and a team will be selected to enter into a development phase with Metrolinx, anticipated for summer 2025. The development phase allows for a collaborative approach between Metrolinx as the project owner and the successful contracting partner to work together to finalize the scope, risk allocation and pricing of various elements for the SRS package of work.

The 9.2-kilometre Eglinton Crosstown West Extension consists of four major packages of work: the Stations, Rail and Systems contract; the first advance tunnel contract from Renforth Drive to Scarlett Road; the second advance tunnel contract from Jane Street to Mount Dennis Station; and the elevated guideway contract between Scarlett Road and Jane Street. The ECWE project is being delivered through various Public-Private-Partnership (P3), progressive design-build and traditional procurement contracts, which are being staggered to support their successful delivery.

Aecon would certainly be intersesting and might be benefits for the interface between SRS and the Elevated Guideway contract that Aecon is already leading. Aecon was part of the WEC consortium as well.

Well we already know who we dont want to see build the stations *cough Acciona*.

And to add, we already see how great *sarcasm fully implied* a relationship Metrolinx has had with the joint Aecon and AtkinsRealis (aka SNC-Lavalin) venture with the Crosstown line. So based on my non-technical analysis, that would leave one option in my books.

Been a while since I've walked this section. The bike path is currently closed, but the sidewalk is open! There were a few cyclists at Scarlett confused when they came up to the closure. There's also a LOT of signage that says the sidewalk is closed... but it is fully open. The sidewalk on the other side is being completed as well (though still closed)
