In the plans for Quayside, this is a Cultural Destination, and in the 3C's plan, the southern tip of this site will become Whiskey Beach, leading into Trinity Plaza.

Here is another rendering from the Parliament Slip plan - "Waterfront Cultural Center"

So my guess is, block 5 will be the City's or Waterfront Toronto's land. It is meant to be some sort of institutional/community/tourist building.
I hope they stick to this lol. I'm thinking of putting an offer on an Aqualuna east facing unit in the North tower

I think that is a fairly old image? The image does not show the realigned Gardiner and Lake Shore Blvd. The new realignment will change, for the better IMHO, development along the north side of Keating Channel. It ill also improve the vista from the east side units Aqualuna Condos for those who can afford to live there.

You are right, but @hvs99's question is about block 5, and in every iteration of that lot in different plans shows that it will be an institutional/community/tourist site.

And agree on the Lake Shore / Queens quay, that intersection would be weird to develop around without it.

The roads at Parliament, Queen's Quay, Cherry and Lake Shore Blvd will all be realigned and I do not think anyone expects any new buildings to be built until this work is completed. The ongoing work to partly fill-in the north end of the Parliament Street Slip are actually Phase 1 of this realignment.

Can't wait to see all this in 20 years after many more public consultations and surveys.

Was flying by Aqualuna to go take pictures of something else, and I thought I'd grab a few shots of the latest progress for this thread.

The units with lights on do not appear to be occupied. Look to be still under construction with construction materials scattered around.

The pool is pretty wild. Wooden deck with marble inlay? That's got to be one of the only wooden decks in Toronto. Ooh la la.

TBH, i expect Quayside and 3C to be done much faster than 20 years, because Villiers Island's completion date is like between 2040 to 2050. Quayside and 3C would like to have to fairly built out for Villiers Island to be completed, because no one would like to walk through and live within construction lands.

Quayside is supposed to begin this year, and I think 2 of the buildings are approved already, and I can see Parliament Slip from my office. It already got filled out. My guess is Quayside will be at least close to completion by 2030, and 3C will be close to completion between 2030 to 2035.

is that a homeless shelter in the background? I'm sure the future owners at Aqualuna must be thrilled.

I am

I am quite sure they will have adequate security and that the temporary tent shelter will not be there much longer as it would seem to be where the extended Queens Quay will go
has any other "temporary" tent shelter been closed in this city yet? this shelter will close as soon as the LRT starts construction, ie never.
