Passed by the Rainbow Valley bridge and workers were placing really big sheets of rebar at the western end. I'm assuming this is for the connection between the bridge and the road.

Found the original ultimate concept for the Terwilliger/ Henday interchange.

Sigh...
This was the last concept plan from 2018 that was likely axed when they decided to go with the "expressway" option instead of free-flowing. Now that the interchange with lights is already being built, this configuration probably won't happen any-time soon until the full 170 st freeway needs to be built

170 St Freeway Planning Study

Now that the interchange with lights is already being built, this configuration probably won't happen any-time soon until the full 170 st freeway needs to be built

One step at a time. South of Rabbit Hill Road, 170th Street is a dangerous rut-ridden township road. The city hasn’t even done the bare minimum of making it and the 41st Ave creek crossing comfortably drivable yet.

I wish there was a clearer view of the bus lane. The retaining wall looks almost done but the actual roadway looks like it still has lots left to do.
That’s cause I think it does have a lot left. Thye couldn’t do the road base until the retaining wall was done, it looks to me when driving through they are getting close to a rough sub grade but now need to do drainage utilities. I couldn’t tell thought what that state is, if that’s getting close to being done you will see a roadway start to from pretty quickly.

Workers started removing the scaffolding under the west direction of the Rainbow Valley bridge. And work is starting on the area before and after the eastbound direction. One disappointment is bulldozers just cleared a vast amount of hill on the approach to the eastbound bridge and crushed all the small trees planted a few years ago. This city frustrates me so much. Plant trees, protect trees, but hey we won't practice what we preach. What a great project for a school group to have transplanted those now 2 foot high trees to another non construction location. Sigh!
