Major delays on the bridge starting Thursday. Not sure what that could be, or why they would reduce more lanes?

There are 4 box girder sections on site and this morning they are prepping to bolt them together to assemble two spans. This is all being done on the north side of the site (westbound lanes) alongside the rainbow valley ski hill.

I'm very curious to know how they plan to get them moved over to the south (eastbound) lanes to stage for the final lift without disrupting traffic.

I can’t figure that out either. They can’t lift them over and keep traffic moving. My engineering mind can’t crack this one. You’d have to transport them somehow.

First set of girders are up. They have about 4 large cranes on site. I assume they’ll transport the girders they’re assembling on the bridge and lift it onto the center pier.

They did, but they put another layer of rebar on top. I assume that’s a normal way to build it.

Lots of earth being moved on the west side of the Henday Terwillegar interchange the last few days. Stakes are out as well.

They’ll have a stop light on the eastbound exit onto.AHD exit from Terwillegar Drive.

Also, a lot of the retaining wall up on the bus route from 53 Avenue to Terwillegar Drive.

Work has begun at the Henday interchange and the new pedestrian bridge over Henday.
