That exit, southbound to twig to the left was always an issue, very strange and iirc the first in town, yet there are now lots of them, so maybe it wasn't so bad.

Agree, logically exits should be on the right hand side, and on one proposal I saw, the 40th avenue exits were totally eliminated....

The exits on the right hand side makes sense, and they also have the left side merge onto Northbound traffic moved to the right hand side but, it's a left side exit from twig onto whitemud...

I blame that all on the selfish Bulyea residents that were like “but muh access to Terwillegar Drive via 40th Ave.” Look at how much more complexity that would have added to the interchange to accommodate ramps to 40th.

Disappointed the new bridge won’t follow the terwillegar alignment. But this is a decent compromise. Feels a little redundant to rabbit hill while there’s still nothing serving terwillegar drive or west. But better than nothing.
Eliminating the need to cross at all the intersections on Rabbit Hill Road will be nice.

Now that the ped bridge has been separated from the interchange, there is no reason not have a free-flowing configuration like the one with SPR/100 Ave. The costs for the extra bridges and ramps are more than offset by reusing the earthworks that had been left in as future-proofing, and a left-in merge to Terwillegar even has advantages in that there's less weaving with the bus lanes! If the plans to keep 170 St SW a freeway are serious, then it pays to do it RIGHT the first time.
