I'm not sure BlogTO can do witty click-bait.

Good job it was cows, and not a load of bull(s). :)
I was called to a single bull in the ditch years ago that had fallen out of the back of a truck. It was clearly in a bad mood from the ride and coupled with the fact that bulls aren't the most sociable of beasts at the best of times, it took us a while to get him corralled.

This story doesn't really require elaboration............

But The CBC's editor gave it a BlogTO worthy headline:

It's good, but will never beat the GOAT

I hope it doesn't take them that long to get the Morrison bypass going. The backup getting onto 6S from EB 401 is getting worse by the day, lots of traffic there. I 'like' how they temporarily solved the problem many years back by just making the exit lane from the 401 longer.

How many decades has it been? 3? 4? Design for the section north of the 401 started in the 1960s - so presumably they were at least contemplating the south section by then.

It has taken them that long!

Again, based on my other post... not really.

The Liberal Government announced an intent to fund and construct the bypass in what, 2017? Any plans before that would simply have been for land reserves. MTO and the government never had intent to construct before then.

It was well recorded that when the PCs came in, they shifted MTO priorities around, putting the bypass on the backburner. MTO instead focused on political priorities like the 413, Highway 3 widening, and 401 widening in Essex County.

The link shows the initial EA was completed in 1997. This supplemented a 1986 study identifying a preferred route. At that time, it would mostly have been for land preservation.

MTO does have a detailed design contract issued, with the Hanlon Parkway mid-block interchange (recently completed) being technically "part" of the Bypass project scope. They have not yet advanced detailed design of the bypass or 401 mainline widening, for whatever reason. I suspect resources are being dedicated to the 413 and Bradford Bypass instead.

The point was "that long to get the Morrison bypass going". I don't think that requires a funding announcement to start the clock! Heck, that's almost about when you stop the clock!

The portion of thr Hanlon at hwy 6 seems nearly finished. I hiped the final phase would be put out to tender soon.

It is a huge project Ive always wonderred the realistic timeline for its completion
