"Jayden Park first made a name for himself by crafting over-the-top madeleines during the pandemic, selling them through an online shop and at pop-ups. His petite sweet treats were so popular that Park landed himself a brick-and-mortar café and bakery, where he started offering brunch dishes alongside his baked goods. Not content to stop there, Park recently launched his latest venture: a dinner menu that incorporates staple Korean ingredients into French bistro classics."

Art's take: This place has been getting mixed review and it's no coincidence given the fact I have seen too many influencers and foodie review this place almost every time I scroll both TikTok and Instagram! I am a bit skeptical to give it a shot!

There used to be a Korean/French restaurant at College and Clinton that was really good.

And I don't mind paying $$ for good food, but $16 for four stalks of gai lan?

Gateau Ghost concept is not brand new! I think they invested a lot of their money into marketing and branding which is great for food & beverage concepts.

here are similar comparable restaurant one should consider and I highly recommend:

1. Ohiru Cafe - 370 College St, Toronto, ON M5T 1S6
2. Sakata Cafe - 867 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4J 1L8
3. Lucky Donkatsu - 415 Yonge St Unit 103, Toronto, ON M5B 2E7

Affordable, delicious, good portion and not too overhyped!

"Carlos Oliviera, co-owner of a new spot for Portuguese-inspired baked goods, wine and gifts at College and Euclid, immigrated to Toronto from Portugal in 1975. “When my parents arrived here, my grandparents—who came over the year prior—had settled in Kensington Market. I’ve had a connection to the area ever since,” says Carlos. He and his family eventually moved to Brampton but would visit the market every Saturday to pick up vegetables, fresh eggs, poultry and salt cod. “On the way back home, we’d stop at a Portuguese bakery on Ossington for custard tarts and sweet bread.”

Art might stop by and try it out and give a proper honest review! checked off on my bucket list!

I thought the guy in the picture looked familiar. I've eaten at Piri-Piri many times over the years and must have seen him there.

This location is still papered-over on the windows saying "coming soon" since July last year.

Long standing Italian restaurant Noce on Queen across from Trinity-Bellwoods park has closed.

Bonito's has opened at 180 Ossington Ave. The space was formerly a coin laundry:

"A global empanada restaurant just opened their first ever North American location in Toronto.
Las Muns is known for their empanadas, which they sell at many locations in countries like Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Now, they’ve chosen Toronto for their first location in Canada and all of North America. Their empanadas are all made by hand, and they prioritize natural ingredients."

Las Muns is now open in the PATH at Brookfield Place in Toronto.

Might check this out but look good

" The people responsible for one of Toronto’s most popular patisseries has just opened the doors to a brand new champagne lounge with French Moroccan influences.
Campaniae comes to us from the team behind Delysees, a patisserie with multiple locations known for their complex and elegant pastries and desserts.
The concept serves Moroccan-inspired shareable plates alongside cocktails inspired by Delysees desserts and high end champagne from producers such as Veuve Clicquot, Dom Pérignon, Taittinger and Moët & Chandon."

Open in Yorkdale!

The sort-of secret: Bindi’s Burgers, an Indian-inspired smash burger operation inside the Monarch Tavern
You may have heard of it if: The Monarch is your local watering hole or you were a patron of one of chef Remo Lobo’s pop-ups
But you probably haven’t tried it because: Lobo has only been smashing patties at the new location since September

Location:

12 Clinton st.
Toronto, Ontario M6J 2N8

Art's Opinion: "exciting option and finally some creative approach to food!" + indian spices to western style burger would go well together & finally Toronto is having some cool spot and innovative food not the usual crap!

Speaking of Moroccan, I've still never been to the Sultan's Tent, which has been around since I was a kid in the 80's...
