On Monday, shortly after we published a story about a massive Trump-administration security breach, a reporter asked the secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, why he had shared plans about a forthcoming attack on Yemen on the Signal messaging app. He answered, “Nobody was texting war plans. And that’s all I have to say about that.”
Oops! 🤭 🥴

A lot of people in my area are canceling work travel to the US. Even if you're not detained, the risk that you are held for questioning and they could try to access information on your phone/laptop is a significant concern.
I wonder if or when this will affect border cities. For instance, a not insignificant number of medical staff (mostly nurses) at Detroit hospitals live in Windsor and cross the border daily

I usually walk across the border to get Arbys every summer in Niagara Falls NY. I am abandoning that idea this year given that I am uncertain what I will face at the border.

I would rather not get sent to secondary because I wanted a juicy roast beef sandwich with large curly fries and a coke!

Why would you go to NY to go to Arby's? Not only because it's gross, but there's an Arby's on the Ontario side.

This was all so predictable. You just knew when the members of the administration spent all day yesterday trashing the reporter and lying that there was nothing classified in the chat that the Atlantic was going to respond with the goods. Mike Walz in particular seems embarrassed that he even had this reporter's contact in his phone and seems to be overcompensating by attacking him on cable news.

All they had to do was say the group chat discussion was a mistake and they would investigate. It would eventually get buried in the avalanche of regular Trump nonsense but instead they're turning this into a prolonged scandal.

I just subscribed to The Atlantic as a token of appreciation

This all seems quite OT.......but to humour an amusing tangent....

On Arbys....

I'm not finding @Richard White 's post all that notable...........as Richard will Richard. LOL

But why do @evandyk and @zang posters both known to have culinary taste have a clear sense of where to find Arbys in a community they don't even live in.....

Inquiring minds and all that......

I have friends with lesser palates, unfortunately. One in fact, who absolutely loves the lousiest of fast food. For his 21st birthday, and we as his friends offered to take him anywhere on us, he chose McDonalds. When visiting a mutual friend together at the UofWaterloo, he drove us around on a late night hunt across the golden triangle for Arby’s.

As for knowing about Niagara Falls, I was there in the fall. Ironically on a shared trip with the above palateless individual and our families. We ate at Benihana that night. I consider that an improvement.

To be fair I have eaten stupidly high priced foods.

When in Hungary I usually visit Gerbaud Cukrászda (Confectionery)

They make the most delicious and high class desserts but they are also stupidly expensive. I think I paid $110 CAD for 5 pieces of cake.

In London, I visited Harrods and bought a £20 coffee in their dining hall
