Actually, all RESIDENTS of Canada are supposed to be counted - international visitors are excluded. Citizenship does not matter, Canadians who normally live outside Canada but happen to be visiting on Census Day are not counted and if someone who normally lives in Quebec is in Ontario that day they are counted there..

Nor should we. But if you're not a Canadian it would be useful to monitor exits. Otherwise we have no idea if someone left when their visa expired. But, perhaps this has never been a problem.

In the last week I've seen this poster shared in alarm on community groups, with a statement released today from the local councillor Saxe being posted (below), and some people have shared that the mayor's office is aware. I've removed the socials handle because I'm not looking to give them more traffic.

Probably a result of old infrastructure built cheaply after the birth of the Township of East York in 1924, breaking away from the Township of York. This occurred as a result of farmers demanding the separation from Township of York to form the Township of North York, because York was becoming too urbanized.

No, but we should be ensuring that when a visa expires, the holder leaves. Temporary should mean temporary.
