What I don’t understand is their commitment/stubbornness to the specific site. There are plenty of empty lots a tower could go with way less headaches.

You got it, those roads (101 Avenue and 96 Street, both south of Jasper) were closed and will be purchased by Alldritt.

As I recall Kevin, Alldritt has 4 years from the agreement effectuation date in which to either start the project or build a not-so-welled-defined public park. That said, I don't know if there is any leniency built into the COVID situation. I do know that they are going to have their sales centre set up this spring on adjacent land in front of the Russian Orthodox church and I imagine that that effort will entail a whole new set of promotional renderings -- we will finally get to see what Gene Dub has in mind, architecturally speaking.

I didn't know that this project's height got downsized. How many stories are we looking at now? Is 80 the original or revised figure?

I don’t understand this? They would be piling down to bedrock and part of the spirit of this project is to geologically reinforce the slide area?
