The only problem is Spirit had A320s Flair flies Boeing 737.I wonder what opportunities the collapse of spirit will offer for airlines like flair. There will be a lot of metal avl.
Notice I did say “like” flair. so good news for Air Transat and their porter code share. The only problem is Spirit had A320s Flair flies Boeing 737.
Our military works with private companies already, this would be no different I would assume. What would this mean for the proposed military base at YEG?
A nice pat little on the head for Edmontonians and telling us not to worry our pretty little heads because there isn't really a competition is not going to help.Hi MacLac, don't let your hatred of Calgary get in the way of the big picture.
a) Most of the world's busiest airports are driven by connecting passenger traffic. YYC being a hub is no exception. Having that large volume of connecting traffic is an advantage when it comes to tourism, and an even bigger advantage when it comes to business.
b) 12 million non-connecting passengers at YYC compared to say 7 million at YEG (assuming around 12% are connecting passengers) is a huge difference for two cities of similar size. Those numbers help support point a)
c) The average Calgarian or average business doesn't care how passengers at YYC are connecting or local. They only care about what's available to them.
Destinations YYC-115, YEG-54
Transborder destinations YYC-22, YEG-15
Destinations outside of North America YYC-14, YEG-1 <-this is a difference maker. 11 of those 14 destinations are busy global hubs. It puts Calgary on the map globally for business and tourism.
d) It's not only the number of destinations, it's also the frequency. I won't get into it, but YYC has far more options to cities that YEG also flies to.
No offense, bit if you're trying to imply there's a dispute or it's a competition, it isn't.

I took that last comment out, it was snarky, but was only mentioned for Maclac’s benefit due to the ‘mic drop’ comment.I suppose if you live in the place with more service, you may be comfortable and fine with things, but if you are in the place whose service suffers because of the another place hogs all the flights is not so great. You may not realize or appreciate that this comes across as a bit condescending. Saying no offense does make it not offensive.
Found this article from Edify. A bit of the airport was mentioned. "The airport boasts the largest land mass of any airport in Canada and has started construction on a 2,000-acre business park, called the International Cargo Hub. Jackson hints there’s much more coming that he is not at liberty to reveal. “What I’ll say is, this would be a generational investment in the region,” he says, “that will have significant construction and operational jobs for a very long time.”"

Huh? What? How is this any different than what's been peddled for DECADES at the airport? You wonder why you have a golf course, mall and casino? Because businesses have already looked and said "No. Just no.".Found this article from Edify. A bit of the airport was mentioned. I would agree with you only they are spending $200,000,000 servicing 2000 acres of land for a logistics hub. They must feel pretty confidentHuh? What?
