Last I had heard (from someone far more in the know than I on this item), was that it was WAY over budget estimates and going back to the Treasury Board?

Not surprising at all, but YEG-BNA (Nashville) is dropped.

It should be noted that WJ is increasing YYC-BNA because of this.

Well WJ has to fill up their empty planes with someone…..might as well be us YEG’ers….YVR is also losing BNA, so it goes to show how desperate Alexei is…..

Sounds pretty desperate, however given how bad the travel to the US numbers are these days, I wonder how long it will be before the YYC one gets cancelled too.

WJ will never cancel YYC flights because: Danny won’t let them….and their airport itself is desperate for the gate revenue cause their monthly interest payment is over $50M/Month on their 10year old terminal….

If so, maybe they will have to raise their baggage fees again to cover this and the losses on the route because such US routes are not getting many Canadian travelers now.

Kelowna flight Craft has been doing combi conversions on 737-800. the first went to Air Inuit. but they are working on another, so I suspect we will see one here some day.

Sounds like UA is ending YEG-ORD next year

UA filed that change 2 months ago at the start of September.
From my earlier post:

United has dropped ORD in return for going daily on IAH for 2026, as opposed to the 3x weekly ORD and 4x weekly IAH this past summer.
Not all that shocking given their YEG-ORD was a pretty last-minute response to Westjet's same route and the initial plan was to in fact do just daily IAH.
DEN is scheduled to remain at 2x daily.
