Well we certainly should have no trouble getting to YYZ! I assume Cancun 3X weekly is seasonal? I was hoping the announcement was going to be daily service to AMS with KLM. Still 5X weekly is OK. One thing that has improved out of YEG is the ability to go one stop to South America and avoiding the Canadian hubs. My wife and I are going to Buenos Aires through IAH with United (first time since the pandemic!), and returning home GIG - ATL - YEG with Delta/Westjet (United had a crazy long layover). Good prices too . . .
Yeah, I can do Brazil via ATL or IAH with Delta and United, respectively, with decent prices and the connections work relatively well, time-wise. I still think there would be demand for at least a 2x weekly flight to Sao Paulo and one to Colombia or Chile, but I won't hold my breath.

I will retract some of my prior vitriol about having to use the 49 gates to shuttle to Calgary. AC kindly used the 70 & 72 gates a couple of times last week for its Calgary shuttle, and it was gratefully accepted. There was a bitter wind outside.

Really annoying that almost all of the YEG-YLW (Kelowna) flights out of Edmonton at Q-400 versus almost every flight out of YYC a 737.

Interesting does look like it is mostly Q-400 currently. In the summer it has definitely been a mix. Prefer mainline but the flight is still short enough it's not too bad and keeps the frequency up.

Agreed. This flight is so short that the size of the plane is a non-issue (who complains about the tiny sea-planes that Harbour Air flies between Vancouver and Victoria for example...)

Maybe don’t fly three or four flights a day Flair manages with just one on a MAX.
I'll take the 3-4 flights on a smaller plane. I never choose to fly Flair between YEG and YLW because their sole flight does not serve me AT ALL on weekdays. It's too short a flight to really matter (just over 1hr 15m gate to gate)

And that one flight per day on Flair can also have terrible departure times that don’t work for everyone when you compare to WS’s 3-4x daily.

A quick Google search shows this coming Saturday the one Flair flight to YLW is at 8 am, vs. WS at 9 AM, 115 PM and 3 PM. I know which one I wouldn’t take, and it’s the one that involves waking up at 5 am to haul myself to the airport.
