Booked a trip to Vegas for September. Booked a connecting flight through Vancouver on the way there, as the only direct with westjet was at 7am. And then a direct flight home. But they just cancelled the direct flight home and now forcing a connection through Calgary. So probably speaks to lack of demand given that was the only return flight that day also
Is 7am departure a "bad thing?" I've never heard of getting to Vegas "early in the day" as being terrible....quite advantageous if you can get it. Wife and daughter got a killer deal in Sep at Mandalay Bay.....on that "terrible 7 am departure." lol. Direct on both ways....

Yup, people are still avoiding US.

Crappy to have connecting flights on a rather short trip.

Not everybody wants to wake up at 430 am to head to the airport. But to each their own.

Talk about how "hard up" WJ is to get YEG'ers to fill seats on in/out bound YYC flights.....they're willing to sell the farm.....shows how full WJ planes are in/out of there.

On a side note, looks like United's last flight of the season to ORD is Aug 31st/Return Sep 07 and WJ's first flight is Sep 03rd. I don't see on United's site about YEG returning flights to ORD next summer? But IAH is daily come this fall.....

6-8am flights a hard pass if at all possible. I just had a 7am departure and it was inhumane getting up so early, but thank god for Nexus. Regular security must have had 100 people in it, literally 1 lady in front of us, which made it tolerable.

And yes, I am a flight snob.

It is nice to get an early start if going east, because of the later time zones there, but not such a big deal for me if going west as long as its not too late when I get there.

YEG opened a safe room for human trafficking victims hosted by country singer Paul Brandt.

The room looks nice, but I doubt any victim would willingly go there, not knowing what could happen next.

Hands up if you think this was funded by some kooky UCP conspiracy theory program.

Are you serious?

I am seriously serious. UCP believes in pizzagate, a debunked QAnon theory that there is a vast worldwide human trafficking scheme.
Right right and that the "Clinton's" ran/run the entire operation. Ugghh, is that why Smitty is pulling this out of her arse.....

Dude, I am as anti-UCP as you'll find out there, but honestly, this was bad.
Human trafficking IS a serious issue, and it happens way more than it should (which is not at all). Having infrastructure and other supports for victims of that is not a bad thing.
