That's what it is - why it was looking so strange. I didn't look at the other buildings to see if same alignment or if this was a one-off.

For such a simple thing, there are even more issues. First of all, in English we normally read and write from left to right horizontally.

I get why the space makes the vertical layout an option here, but the I's also look funny being left aligned. IMO they would be better centered.

Also, in English we normally put a space between words or words and numbers, so it should be BUILDING 6, not BUILDING6.

Of course then there is the issue of capitalization, we would normally write Building 6. Many reasons why this is so jarring.
