So this section of the trail is almost finished. Taken 27 October.
I like the antique-style light fixtures. We should have them in more parts of the city. But they're supposed to go on matching antique-style black poles.
We're so backwards as a city on public realm design issues. How did we end up being seemingly the only major city that can't figure out common public realm flourishes like ornamental streetlights? Ottawa and Montreal have done better in this regard.
That goes well with the horribly mismatched eastern staircase of the Wallace bridge.I like the antique-style light fixtures. We should have them in more parts of the city. But they're supposed to go on matching antique-style black poles.

This drives me crazy. Painting the new railings black would have been such an easy (and obvious) win, and yet...That goes well with the horribly mismatched eastern staircase of the Wallace bridge.
Is there a targeted completion date for the connection?View attachment 635554View attachment 635555
Taken Mar 9th. Good progress on the steel structural frame and was surprised to see work taking place even on the Saturday.
A bigger challenge is the first westbound UP train doesn't leave Bloor station until after 6 AM on Saturdays.I was just wondering this. I have to go to the airport on Saturday and my son would love to take the UP, but I'm not dragging him and a suitcase outside from Dundas W to the UP platform at 5 a.m.
Probably more dependable to take the 300 Bloor-Danforth bus - which runs directly to the airport at 5 AM. The bus moves like greased lightening at that time in the morning.I hadn't gone as far as actually checking the schedules to see if it would work. I think if we got on the 6:08, we'd be good. But my wife will never agree to it.
