I always find it impressive how the signals always seem to be in the process of changing to red as I approach them while cycling. Must have to do with the average speed or something. It's just annoying most of the time, but having to wait several minutes standing still in the elements in -20 winter weather or the +30 degrees we're currently in really sucks and makes you feel second-class.
Same problem walking down Jasper Ave. As a pedestrian also dodging traffic and other things that should not be on the sidewalk makes a person feel like third class.

Whatever we call it -- Green-Noble, La Randonnée, Meskanaw...
It would sure be a potentially beautiful addition to the City -- a pedestrian/wheelie boulevard the length of 102nd Avenue with a connector bridge over 109th Street and boulevard spurs that connect non-adjacent parks... into a great Park System.

Puneeta at the 22min market talking about how external communties aren't doing anything extra hit the nail on the head.
Our so called business leaders have been MIA for some time and I feel still are. I suppose being a branch plant city we are perhaps they are too busy going to the Stampede and other events in Calgary and elsewhere.

Whose made this subjective quote? Is there a barometer that measures this lag in "economic development?" How do we know YYC is not 10.25 years ahead or rather 8.07 years behind YEG?
Good question. I'm not sure who made the You Tube video, the link doesn't seem to work but Mahler is mentioned first, so I am going to guess this is a Calgary project.

It has always been a cottage industry there to say disparaging things about Edmonton and for us to go meekly along or echo them. So perhaps we should take this with some grain of salt.

However, I feel our lack of self confidence related to that also seems to have led to us being fairly directionless since about 2015, particularly when it comes to our downtown.

Yup, quite busy, but also things looking and still feeling very subpar.

Around the library and Churchill it felt and looked unsafe and with a lot of garbage and very minimal visible police presence outside of the square itself.

If we want to change perceptions and gain momentum, why not make these AMAZING.

Walking home from work - a lot of foot traffic around downtown with Lainey Wilson concert tonight at Rogers and the Symphony Orchestra Disney event at Churchill.

Also, City Market at ID is getting noticeably busier.
Yeah, downtown felt really bumping last night. Way more pedestrian traffic than average on Jasper Ave and patios were packed later into the evening.
