I'd guess between utilities, catenary lines, and the absolutely needed eastbound lane (sarcasm), there isn't alot of room for tree planting.

Don't expect this to change much as it's a major utility corridor now. Lighting and summer planting from the city and businesses are the way to fix it.

Rice Howard place… wow…
I remember reading somewhere a few months ago that the office vacancy was "healthier" than the numbers suggest since the vacancies were mostly concentrated in a few buildings. It didn't say which ones at the time but now we got to see it's Rice Howard Place and a few others bringing the numbers up.

I didn't realize that Rice Howard in particular had so much vacancy. It is too bad, I worked there many years ago when it was more vibrant and newer and liked the building, still do.

Now I understand more why they are putting all the work into renovating it. I hope it helps.

Yeah what. How is WSP so bad? Did the renovations not lock in new tenants or was there a large departure?

Those renovations were over a decade ago now, almost 15yrs and helped stabilize the building, but it's seemingly gone downhill from there likely due to location (not Gov, not CBD) and WFH impacts is my guess.
