September 2nd service changes have been announced. They seem to be introducing some of the changes into Northwest Brampton this year to get people ready. Not a fan of the 4/4A change or the new 4C. Especially since the 28/28A’s frequency does a lousy job making up for it. They didn’t mention the 501 returning to 5 minute service here, despite doing so.View attachment 673198View attachment 673199View attachment 673200View attachment 673201View attachment 673202
I’m kinda confused of what the new 4 and 28 routings will look like. I would like to see a route map illustration for these new changes.

I'm wondering if the 4C is what's depicted in this PIC from March of 2024. Of course, not everything in this PIC has happened, or will happen, but it may be the start of it.

Remembering the ASP from this year, it looks to me like the implemented some of the short, medium and long term plans, which sort of surprises me. Like take the 4 for example, the long term plan was the one that was supposed to have it extended to Clockwork Drive, or even the 28, Wanless wasn’t supposed to have full coverage restored yet. I would have love to have seen a 6 extension to really make up for the loss of the 4A but maybe that’s down the road. The 4C seems to be a compromise of keeping frequent service on both Worthington and Brisdale, especially since Route 27 as of right now hasn’t really lacklustre service

Part of me believes that the 28 Wanless got full coverage from the removal of the 4A, where the 28/4C had buses reallocated to them. 4C doesn't need as many, so the 28 could have consumed most of them.

I think it may be in one of their long term plans where everything becomes a grid and goes north of Mayfield. With the introduction of the 4C, it appears to be the start of their N/S and E/W bus grid where they avoid making as many turns as possible, except at the start/end.

One of the things I didn't see mentioned was the removal of the 104, and I believe that removal is going to come when the 504 starts, so even more of the fleet will get freed up at some point for other route time changes.
The new service design for the 4 will have the route 4 variant operate on Sandalwood to Walness, then loop on street via Walness, Brisdale and Clockwork back to Sandalwood. The route 4 variant will no longer serve Mount Pleasant GO.

The 4C variant will operate on Sandalwood to Walness, then along Walness, Brisdale, Farhill, Worthington and Bovaird to Mount Pleasant GO. This is the same routing that the route 4 variant currently utilizes which is being renamed as 4C.

The result is there is no service by any route 4 variants on Creditview.

28 Walness runs from Mount Pleasant Village to Heart Lake Terminal via Creditview, Walness, Hurontario and Sandalwood. The 28A Remembrance variant runs along Remembrance Drive between Creditview and McLaughlin.

What about the other 4 branch? Will it still serve mount pleasant go?

As I mentioned in the post, the 4 won't serve Mount Pleasant GO, but the 4C will. Note, I edited my post while you were replying because I originally missed the fact the 4C will still serve Worthington.

Here is a crude map to help visualize things: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=18V3X0Ukj36dXo585j0q0ERld11Ih2aE&usp=sharing
Your "crude" map which is actually very helpful, is much appreciated. I felt like I was talking out of my rear with not much to go for it.

For the 17 I believe a southbound trip was added at 2:41 pm, northbound service was tweaked to match bell times at North Park I think? Although it’s not a very busy route, I’m surprised they didn’t just restore it back to 20 minutes

As for the 20, these two trips are new, since service ends about 7:30 pm. It says it’s to be some sort of employment shuttle?? I’m not sure as to where.

I’m guessing due to the scale of the service changes, Brampton Transit will have staff at various impacted locations, notifying people of the service changes over the coming days. These include Mount Pleasant GO, Cassie Campbell CC, Heart Lake Terminal, and Brampton Gateway Terminal. Here is their schedule. By the looks of it, also by where the construction for building the stop pads for the 504 is taking place, it seems like the upcoming 504s terminus seems to be some sort of loop near or/onsite of Cassie Campbell CC, so it looks like they’re beginning to use the location for the 104.

Would there still be 7 days a week service on the 4C branch that’s previously served by the 4 main branch even with that dashed line?
Dashed lines don’t usually mean anything when it comes to level of service. The dashed lines are usually to differentiate the “A”, formerly “B” , “C”, and “D” branches from the main route. But to answer your question, 4C will operate daily.
