She has not been very committed to Canada. I believe all her trips to Florida were to try make some sort of deal with Trump not involving staying in Canada and now she is trying to move it ahead.
I think the separatist sentiment is the noise. People are talking about that a lot, and the UCP corruption scandal far less.I hope people are starting to catch on to the idea that Alberta separation is a very real threat. It is certainly being pushed by a small segment of the population, but that segment also happens to have full control of the Premier's office. The province is in the process of being completely sold out. Might want to start making some noise.
It could be that the UCP is also trying to use this as a distraction and it may be partly successful so far, but I am not sure if it will work in the end.I think the separatist sentiment is the noise. People are talking about that a lot, and the UCP corruption scandal far less.
Not to mention that, as was reminded by two Chiefs today, most of the province is either treaty 6, 7 and 8 land, or Crown lands, and therefore cannot be separated from Canada, which would leave an infinitesimal part of the province to separate, should it ever happen (unlikely). And this territory includes basically all major population centres, all of the oil and about 90% of the rockies (basically everything south of Jasper National Park, including the park itself). Unless Danielle Smith was capable of raising a standing army comprised of most of the able bodied adults in the province, arm it, train it, and fight a war, Alberta separation ain't happening, not now, not ever.It could be that the UCP is also trying to use this as a distraction and it may be partly successful so far, but I am not sure if it will work in the end.
Lest we forget as a landlocked province, Alberta would have great difficulty building more pipelines and the recently increased interest in Canada in doing that would be gone, and no we the UN can't force them to.
Those are just lies the separatists tell us.
100% agreed. But I've been shocked by how quickly people have been hopping on that train. It smacks of bored people wanting to cosplay as revolutionaries, but it's picking up steam. Even if efforts collapse they can make things quite messy for all of the Canadians residing within the provincial borders.I hope people are starting to catch on to the idea that Alberta separation is a very real threat. The Premier is a separatist, but sure.Yawn…..Not a threat whatsoever….fake news MAGA dude……
This is the most noise I've heard for separation from any Premier of our province in my life time.Yawn…..Not a threat whatsoever….fake news MAGA dude……
She is but let's not credit her and her merry band of MAGA flat earthers with have any influence on this matter - let's chalk it up as being "purely coincidental."This is the most noise I've heard for separation from any Premier of our province in my life time.
This isn't fake news by any means. She's fanning the flames big time.
Looking at the election results for Alberta too has certainly pushed the narrative.Agree wholeheartedly that she is the "absolute worst human being on the face of the planet," and that indeed she is pushing to separate. I am disagreeing with the so-called numbers of her fellow separatist scumbags being anything more a handful of her loyal death club followers......
