Jen Gerson was advising of this data leak some 2-3 months ago, she even contacted the gov’t. The length of time it took for Elections Alberta to act is egregious
These days it generally seems to be outside of Alberta media that breaks stories like these and scandals. Is the local media now to scared to report on things that may cause the UCP embarrassment or to look bad?

It's been that way for a very long time. I heard how the Talisman scandal was systematically killed before a local reporter threw a hail mary to a small website, resulting in a UK-based news outlet to pick up the story.

An email from the UCP denied that the president was ever at the meeting.

“Nenshi is using a common name to drag our president through the mud,” said the UCP. “Rob Smith was never at that meeting, nor has he been at any Centurion meeting. It is a flat-out lie.”

But a statement from the UCP Caucus said caucus staff were in attendance, and they regularly attend events of political interest.

Shades of "the other Randy"...

Even if it wasn't "that" Rob Smith, that's quite the heavy deflection from the UCP, who have been caught red-handed and yet are somehow trying to play the victim in this exchange!
