Ahh, I missed that.

Your vouching for her speaks well of her.....

But does she wear tights as colourful as those of @Towered?

Council needs more colourful progressives. LOL
Toronto desperately needs more colour everywhere!

Stupid question - is there a...dress code for council?

In terms of mandatory attire? No,

There are some vague wordings around decorum and appropriateness of behavior, but nothing that spells out what that means in terms of clothing.

Perks usually wears a dress shirt and jacket, but with jeans. Colle sometimes wear a soccer zip up or a pullover sweater. In December Cheng wore a festive cape over her dress lol. Rob Ford infamously wore a matching track suit! I could only find one thing in the Council Procedures code and that was just advising that Members have a responsible for "Not wearing political or biased slogans on clothing or buttons during a meeting."

Fantastic - all bets are off then if I manage to weasel my way in there

Hmm, I must have replied to the wrong post. I meant Jen Alexander in ward 2.
I suspected the response was due to how UT formats its quoted posts (i.e. the Holyday reference was hidden in the bottom of the quoted part)

Potential problems for Parthi in Scarborough South West:

I'll just provide the opening to this piece:

A source told the Toronto Star that it is related to the 708 Kennedy proposal. More details in the 708 Kennedy thread.

CTV reporter Natalie Johnson is throwing her hat in the ring for councillor Beaches-EY.

As @christiesplits would know, that 'rumour' has been floating for awhile now, but is now public.

She's positioning herself as non-aligned (no party, no ideology) just good local representation.

It has been expected that Jennie Worden would enter the race as the left-wing candidate, but she has not yet officially declared.

James Dann has thrown his hat in the ring. Notable in that he was a Manager of Parks in the City of Toronto, a role that included Waterfront Parks (eastern beaches) in recent years.

It will be interesting to see what each of their (Johnson, Dann, and Worden, plus others) platforms are

Ugh, she sounds like a flake at best, or (likely) another BB in the making. Using her public profile for the advantage. I’m skeptical of journalists and media personalities jumping into politics, given the history (Ben Chin, Mike Duffy, Danielle Smith, Mark Sutcliffe, Evan Solomon, Adam Vaughan)…

Quite the puff piece.

“Johnson emphasized she’s intent on staying away from political ideology, both in her campaign and as a councillor, adding she feels she can work with anyone.”

“ “This feels like a ‘put me in coach’ moment,” she said.”

Also don't forget Liz West's challenges to Paula Fletcher next door.
