Yeah, I should have clarified that focusing on the Science Centre doesn't pull any voters who are even thinking of voting PC.

Was expecting the Liberals to make a more substantial transit announcement. A firm commitment to a transit project ie Sheppard ext, full fare harmonization between GO/TTC etc.

Still early but they wont have much time to make their case with how short the campaign period is. Theyll need to think big if they hope to sway voters from the Conservatives.

A few familiar faces from the municipal scene are running as Liberal candidates:

- John Campbell, former Etobicoke Centre city councillor, is running for the Liberals.
- April Engelberg, runner-up for city council in Spadina-Fort York in 2022, is also running for the Grits.

NDP had folks going door-to-door in my Toronto Centre riding on the weekend. They're first out, at least in my neck of the woods.

I'm very surprised the Liberals don't appear to have a candidate yet in Toronto Centre. It was a safe provincial Liberal seat prior to their 2018 collapse.

In University-Rosedale, Sydney Pothakos, a policy director at Environment, Conservation and Parks, is running for the Conservatives; she appears to be quite young considering her LinkedIn profile. For the Liberals, we have Pamela Jeffery, an MBA probably in her 60s. Looks like she has sat on countless boards. Diversity seems to be her main interest. But I'm most likely going to vote for the NDP's Jessica Bell, I think she's been doing a good job as our MPP.

It should be an easy riding for them to find a candidate and it should be a riding where they have a strong EDA, so who knows what's up. I'd be worried if there's still no candidate by this time next week, unless there's already a schedule nomination meeting time set.

I'm expecting a very low turnout on February 27. Based on conversations with friends and family, people seem tuned out with the provincial election. Add in the winter and we could see the worst turnout on record.

Another indication is how few election signs I see compared to previous elections.

I recall many years ago with the NDP I worked in a campaign office canvassing during a winter election. It may have been Federal.

Nobody wanted to answer the door, nobody wanted to go outside. Nobody can be arsed to go to a polling station when it is -20 out.
