I heard from someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, that they put the rebar in upside down!
In my defence, this guy was one of the city staffers who monitored TransEd's progress, so if anyone knew it'd be him :p

I heard the opposite from someone who was a higher up with the city at the time—they actually put in too much rebar.
If you watch the videos transed put out they needed to add more rebar in the “hip” area. Hence the post tensioned belt that remains there today. My guess is that there won’t ever be a “permanent” fix. Oh well

No it was missed components. During a shop drawing review there was some notation that everyone failed to respond to. When I was at another Eng firm the structural leads were involved with a review post issue. I believe there is a report circulating somewhere.

Huh, interesting. I wonder why he thought that then. Thanks for the correction. If you ever come across that report, I'd love to see it and learn more.

Powering the Valley Line West
We’re starting to install the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) along the Valley Line West LRT! These overhead wires will deliver the electrical power needed to keep future trains running smoothly and efficiently.
Crews are now putting poles, hardware, and wire supports in place, marking an exciting new phase of progress as we work toward bringing modern, reliable transit to west Edmonton.
Stay tuned for more updates as the system takes shape!

Another day, another unsafe, uninviting and disgraceful experience with our new very expensive infrastructure looking horrendous. 2/3 shelters had open drug use, garbage everywhere, totally unkept and overall an unacceptable look/feel with no officers anywhere in sight.

its almost like our police continue not to care about dt.

TransEd and/ or TransEd's contractor Valley Landscaping use a brine solution for ice prevention and ice removal on platforms. Ultimately it will be TransEd's problem if they have rusting issues because their contractor is squirting brine around.
The rusting is insane!! It's at every station except for Davies (covered). Hopefully Marigold doesn't use the same method for ice prevention on their section. Here's some pics at the Churchill station that I took earlier today.
