A couple of highlights from the admin presentation:
1. There would likely be two ten hour shifts seven days per week.
2. This is not intended to move the opening date forward; instead it's meant to "de-risk" the civil work, particularly at intersections (which is apparently the most complex part of the project), and ease some pressure from the trackwork schedule in future years.

Admin was asked about delaying the 3 year Jasper Ave (114-124st) enhancement project from 2025 construction start to 2026 or even delay by a few weeks in 2025 while 124st intersection is closed.

However admin let council know that contracts have been signed for work to begin and delaying it could mean costs to city and council was also told the city received $8.7 million from the federal government for this Jasper Ave work a couple of years ago and this project needs to get underway. A new federal active transportation fund is already seeking bids from municipalities and its probably best the city starts spending the money it has already received if it wants to be successful in asking for more dollars from this same federal program. The money is meant to go to ready-to-go projects.

According to the Wellington Bridge Replacement project, "Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2025 and will take approximately one year to complete. The bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, with landscaping in 2027." I'm hoping that all 3 construction projects (Wellington Bridge, SPR/LRT, and imagine jasper ave) can time things right.
