Greenwood yard stopped taking deliveries of new subway cars in the early 2000s iirc. But yea Greenwood isn’t going anywhere.
There were no new deliveries between the end of 2001 and 2010, and the former were also delivered & entered service on line 1 first, before being handed down to line 2 (though admittedly I don't see the logic of putting the newer T1s on line 1 and displacing the older T1s to line 2 rather than leaving the older T1s that were already on line 1 and putting the newer T1s on line 2 directly).

I assumed you were asking about maintenance rather than delivery of the new fleet. Originally the new yard would've been required for the new fleet if it were built in the TR configuration, but the new fleet was spec'd to allow GW to maintain them; perhaps after the new yard is built and the new fleet reaches its midlife-rebuild stage, it could then be rebuilt into the TR configuration.

What bearing does the existence or lack-thereof of an airport at Downview have on the existence and use of a loading ramp at the TTC's facility?

At the end of the day - sure, anything is possible. But the question is why? What does building a new ramp at Kipling or anywhere else get you versus one at a TTC facility that already exists?

I looked on google maps but didn't see anywhere that the Barrie line crosses the TTC tracks?

It does, at Downsview Park Station. Of course, the grade difference would be problematic, as would trying to shlep a subway car down 3 flights of escalators.

More seriously, the TRs were delivered by truck, not train.

Question, when the TRs and the Flexity streetcars were delivered to TTC. Wasn’t it cheaper by Rail over trucking when it came to TRs and Flexity streetcars being delivered?. Although I assume you could build a Spur from the MX Newmarket sub to the Wilson yard over the Tarmac and yes Downsview airport has been closed.

I think it was cheaper to deliver by truck as those rail companies charge an arm and a leg. They truck Skytrains all the way across the country from Kingston to Vancouver. The problem with the Flexitys was trucking to Hillcrest was very problematic as they are longer than subway cars and had to go through downtown. A streetcar on a truck don't fit underneath streetcar overheads. The Citadis Spirits are trucked in as halves but they were also assembled in Brampton.

The Flexitys were all brought in by rail. The TTC has a small spur track that goes up a ramp into a spur off the CPKC mainline. There is also a spur at the Mount Denis yard as well for the crosstown trains. Finch West has no rail connection for deliveries.

The first car was delivery by truck as the ramp wasn't ready.

Track issue, northbound at York Mills, cracked rail?

Delays currently between Finch and Lawrence. Only one track operation for a section.

Will they be able to fix by the afternoon rush?

These are pretty nice. Thank God the initial design was just a place holder. It looked homely and outdated. Especially compared to rolling stock in places like Paris and Lisbon.

It reminds me alot of the tube trains in London.
