I agree the new ceiling finish is more attractive, too bad they stuck w/the clunky looking box lighting though.

But I have no expectation of them renovating the balance of the station, and if they do, I imagine they won't bother trying to match the finishes. That's been an ongoing sore point between myself and certain staff at TTC.

Either match everything properly, contrast it just perfectly (so that the new makes sense w/the old), or do a whole station. Weird mismatched stuff that shares no design language drives me nuts!
I dunno why they can’t be consistent. They’ve managed to match finishes at a couple BD line stations. Eglinton’s platform extension is not that bad either, though the bare wall and exposed utilities sucks.

Sept 1
The shell of the new accessibility entrance for Islington station partly in place with no sign of the new bus terminal nor an elevator for the new entrance. No idea what is taking place under the tent beside the current entrance other than a tunnel for a future entrance at Bloor.

"hey TTC, you've reopened the exit from King Station southbound to Commerce Court that was fully closed for Easier Access work. That's nice"
"yes, the turnstiles have been replaced by fare gates"
"and since you've had full possession of that zone for weeks, obviously the escalator from that platform to the fare gate level is in tip-top shape"
"you might think that, indeed... if you had never ridden the TTC before" (puts barriers around either end)
