Complete speculation but the super columns line up pretty much perfectly with where phantom Scotiabank Arena columns if it extended above the corridor would go (or will in the future).

If MLSE ever wanted to preserve the option of replacing their stump with a tower, they’d need to coordinate exactly at this moment or it’ll be too late.

The perfectly positioned structural wall and two columns larger than the rest , including the crane well in Pesto’s and Civdis’ photos look very much like they could support a tower above the track.

Apologies as I’m sure this has been said elsewhere, but I can’t get a straight answer from MX docs

When is the current expectation of when lakeshore trains will actually start using these new platforms?

On or about October 32rd, 2091.

... seriously, they've blown by the November 2025 originally stated opening date so your guess is as good as anyone else's. This is the last update they provided and it hasn't been updated since February so safe to say Metrolinx isn't interested in sharing any estimated construction completion dates, let alone opening dates for trains to run.
