Welcome to politics.
...and It's how ballrooms are built! >.<DSRB going to Montreal because they'll throw a tantrum otherwise....how silly.
Let them throw a tantrum. Rather than altering Ontario Place beyond recognition or assuming provincial control of the island airport to allow jets or other such shenanigans the Government of Ontario, and the city of Toronto, should be vocally advocating for DSRB to be in Toronto. What am I missing here ?...and It's how ballrooms are built! >.<
I mean I could see a "compromise" between Doug's island convention centre and this thing.Let them throw a tantrum. What am I missing here ?
This could be a snippet of the national capital debate from the mid-1800s lolToronto need to step up their game because Montréal will not go down without a fight. Hopefully Toronto will be selected. Definitely my choice. Ottawa as capital would be the best decision politically, however. Less anger on all side and easier to justify.
CreateTO notes that IF Toronto gets the DSRB it will go to 200 Front West, at least as an interim: SEE: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2026/ra/bgrd/backgroundfile-287750.pdfDSRB going to Montreal because they'll throw a tantrum otherwise....how silly.

Premier Doug Ford also spoke in favour of Toronto’s bid to house the new Defence, Security and Resilience Bank, which is also backed by Mayor Olivia Chow. The CreateTO CEO signed a letter of support for the bid, at the request of Toronto Global. Premier Ford described Toronto as the clear choice for the DSRB, due to its strength as a global financial services hub, and said the Ontario government would help establish both an interim and long-term headquarters for the bank, with a potential interim headquarters already identified through the province’s existing property portfolio at 200 Front Street West.
I'm surprised. I thought the big issue with HUB for DSRB was security. I can't imagine 200 Front or CBC has the required security for this building even on an interim basisI don't see how that could be the HQ ? There is not that much space available in it and if one of the banks is taking 200K that leaves very little else ?
What about the CBC building ?
Yes. I remember higher up in this thread that people were saying the DSRB would never be The HUB because the bank would need super high security that an "off-the-shelf" tower like The Hub couldn't offer.I'm surprised.
