So it’s dark grey & black now? It’s better than previous, breaks up the monotonous ultra boring colour scheme of all those xerox’d ice water condos.

I like the black (dark gray?) cladding on this building. It will also be pretty cool driving down the offramp from the Gardiner and seeing the podium terrace area. Might have been nicer with more colour flourishes but will stand out against all the blue in the area.

Curious if this will end up being paved as a surface parking lot for a while before we see any construction.

They just demolished a multistory parking lot, why would they put a surface parking lot here if they aren't ready for construction.

Parking lots bring in $$$ and if their building plans are slower than they hoped it is certainly a possibility. The advantage with surface parking lot is that it can turn into a construction site in 24 hours, a multi-floor parking structure cannot.

I highly doubt they would demolish a parking lot and then 3 weeks later realize they're not close to putting shovels in the ground and turn back into a much less profitable parking lot. Makes no sense.

The planning for the demo started years ago and took many months - the old garage was also in need of major repairs. I am not saying the site WILL become a surface parking lot, only pointing out that setting one up and closing a surface parking lot down is fast and easy and if there is a hiatus of more thana few months it may happen. We shall see. Not sure how easy it will be to get a City permit though....
