Though I am sure it would be fun to get access to the observation lounges, why would owners living in a condo building really want 'strangers' using their building to get there? The hotel portion on the lower floors will undoubtedly be totally separated from the residential as is normal.

They are clearly trying to have two 'classes' of resident. The Upper (floors) Class and the Lower (floors) Class. Are all residential units in the building going to be in one condo Corporation or will there be two? If it is all one Corporation, I find this 'classism' very odd and unfortunate, if there are two Corporations it makes more sense.

I just counted the floors on some pics and based off this one, the bands are correct at levels 31 and 56
 
So the people at the top, who already enjoy amazing views, are the only ones allowed access to essentially the same views from the observation deck. What kind of crass snobism is this?
I think this is more to do with elevator dynamics serving a tower with lots of floors and lots of units than anything. But I can agree developers taking the premium advantage here sure makes the optics look this way. /sigh

Well ladies and gentleman, the long awaited construction of the Harbour St (Downes St) Extension is about to begin, this is why the construction site on the south end was being cleared.

Construction begins this Wednesday and is scheduled to progress through to October.

Remind me again, when the extension is done, will they close the old (present) Harbour St east of Yonge?

Are you referring to the section that curves and connects through to Yonge and forms the current Lake Shore Blvd E?

If so, yes the curve will be removed eventually and Harbour will be straightened to up and punch through to the new Downes St extension. Lake Shore Blvd E will also be straightened out as well. Good for pedestrians, but I can already see this being a traffic disaster.

Here's the 2023 plan from Waterfront Toronto, although you'll see there's westbound lanes of Lake Shore Blvd E on the east side of Yonge, ignore that because that's not happening. There's no space for that under the Gardiner so I dont know why it's even plotted out to begin with.
