The question becomes how quick this will reach the 300m mark. If The One is approaching the end of it's story count where there's a complicated roof mechanic to reach the 300m mark, the Skytower on the other hand has no such hurdle to traverse. That is, 300m to it is another 51 meters of stories to go...

...at the end of the day, I think I have a hat to publicly eat here if The One takes a dog's life and a day to complete as this tower blows by it. >.<
 
There is no race here... The One will be a supertall long before Sky Tower is. The One has only 2 or 3 floors left, plus the crown. Sky Tower has 35-40 floors still to go, plus its crown. Let's say it goes up at a floor a week. That's about 8 months still, plus the crown to build. That takes us into 2026...

I don't think people are referring to topping out I think they are referring to reaching the 300 m Mark here I don't sky Tower will beat the one to 300 m but I don't think it will hold the title for longer than a month

Noooo I dont want to hear it! Even if it mostly likely is the truth. 🙉

Ok so maybe The One will almost certainly hit 300m first. But do you reallly think the slow as molasses One crew is going to be able to finish the complex roof structure and top off before Sky Tower reaches and passes that height(308m)? My money's on the latter.
