This a big step towards Chicago that our skyline needsPhotoshopped @steveve 's model of the Skytower onto a photo I took of the Toronto Skyline this past summer from the Islands. I didn't do any calculations or anything, just estimated the height based on the CN tower so don't take it as being accurate

Three or four more towers in the 350m-450m range will do the trick. This a big step towards Chicago that our skyline needs
The One definitely is a handsome building similar to the office towers of chicago. If only that was by the waterfront so our skyline pics were a little rosierLove Toronto and Love Chicago, but I guess I don't really see the similarities building-wise or think we're moving that way.
Chicago's iconic towers are nearly all office towers. We have a few semi-iconic office towers, but all the new tall stuff going up is pretty generic condos not big handsome office towers.
If anything our office icons are getting surrounded and crowded out by tall yet otherwise non-descript condos.
The skyline from 20 years ago shot from the island looked much more defined and Chicago-like, what with all the main bank towers still visible and the Royal York.
Now it's like the colourful flowers have been surrounded by leafy weeds. The garden overall has more volume and more height, but the good stuff is all hidden by the boring stuff.
That said, it's all in the eye of the beholder, and some might find Ice Condos or CityPlace to be as iconic as FCP or TD Towers. Who's to say.
Worth repeating...
...if this tower where built in Chi-Town it will be 5th tallest building there.

...to be clear, I am indeed using the measurements given on this page. If this where over at their forum page I would be using their given measurements. Either way though, if it just left or right of the Aon Center tower doesn't really matter here, when we are clearly in Chi-town's big kids club with this tower. And for what that's worth. You're correct if we go with the 345.5m height that's in the title of this thread. Skyscraperpage states that Pinnacle Sky Tower is 346.7m which puts it as the 4th tallest building if it were being built in Chicago.
Here’s an unrelated tip but if you don’t want the drawings to be blurry on skyscraperpage you just need to make a diagram account (I wish I knew that earlier lol)You're correct if we go with the 345.5m height that's in the title of this thread. Anyone have an idea of why there's a different height in Skyscraperpage?

Agreed. In terms of attractiveness, Toronto's skyline peaked about 25 years ago unfortunately...Love Toronto and Love Chicago, but I guess I don't really see the similarities building-wise or think we're moving that way.

IMO, part of the problem is that we are building so many buildings, and they're all of the same era. So there are differences, but thematically similar. Chicago was a big city long before Toronto, and they have big buildings from many erasAgreed. In terms of attractiveness, Toronto's skyline peaked about 25 years ago unfortunately...
