They're planting over by the crane today...

Still finding more flowering plants in various states of bloom and others prepping for winter. I also love how they planted so many of these mixed in with other flowering and non-flowering plants.

I remember being able to see the center bridge supports from this spot before, can't even see them now.

Some of these trees and bushes were only a few feet higher than me when the park opened. Some of these are now two to three times my height

A quick look at some of @GameOnBrad 's pics from last Sunday with plant IDs. I didn't attempt the grasses/sedges/reeds, I can only do a handful of those.

The berries below belong to Red Osier Dogwood (shrub with red branches in winter)

Hmmm, not as sure about the one below, I think its Bee Balm, or Monarda Fistulosa. VVV

Every time I go and swing by the playground I keep seeing the same thing that I saw from day one and that’s family leaving bikes together along the fences where they’re not supposed to. Not sure what the solution is, but a solution seems to be missing.

It's probably just a shortage of bike racks, but is there any issue with the bike parking method in the photo? The bikes are off to the side and not blocking anything or crushing any plants.

I suspect that that one flowering plant that was all grey is dying or something? I'm really not sure what is happening to it. It was technically on cherry street, just outside the park.

just normal end of season for this plant. It's perennial, but it dies off each fall just like Goldenrods, Asters, etc etc.

It looks as it should for mid September. Should be back green leaved and purple flowered next July.

There are secure posts to lock bikes in the park but they are deep within the park on the south side (mostly) I didn't see them anywhere else (yet).. I'm not sure why they didn't put a whole bunch near the playground area. That would have been helpful. Perhaps when the washroom is completed there, they will add some there.

Sadly, many people with bikes are just going to put them closest to wherever they are, just like I've been noticing a bunch of bushes torn up, flattened, and/or broken off to make paths to the river for people fishing. They can place designated fishing spot signage but that doesn't mean people are going to use them.
