Kind of sad seeing this along Cherry Street. I have seen a bunch of inebriated people jumping on these as they walked by at various times this summer. I guess the damage was finally done.
And then this happened earlier this summer on Commissioner's (orange bridge) when I was walking by. A parent sitting on the bench and their two kids were jumping all over this bench. Just as I passed them, I heard a loud crack noise behind me. Sure enough this was the result...
Simple solution to part of this. Don't let the wood overhang so much. It should have been maybe an inch or two (max) of an overhang and a 3rd support dead center under each bench would help support the weight of people using these benches as trampolines.
