And the planned but unfunded playpark fits in perfectly to the unmapped section:
I know they were looking for large donors that would get their name on the playpark, but is the Learning Centre and cafe part funded (i.e. the building)?

I have to double check with my sources, but from what I remember the learning centre, cafe, and these washrooms (1 of 3 washrooms in the park) are part of the Play Park phase, and likely dependent on funding as well. If you look carefully, the learning centre tucks under part of the play park.

Could have sworn Alex B had posted a bunch of stuff about washroom funding yesterday, I didn’t look close enough to see if it was all refurb or included new ones

He has a series of slides in his IG Stories, which means there is limited time to read. It looks like they were posted at around 3 pm Friday, so roughly 8 hours left to go read them

@xmyth_ and @PL1 the washroom stuff is slides from the Washroom Enhancement Program.

He posted them on his bsky which does not require any login and is not time limited.

I copied a few over to the Olivia Chow thread.

They are still planting trees here and there and workers are on the south side of the Don River by Cherry Street doing work.

The trees on the south side are starting to fill in...

And a bunch of benches on the south gives a nice relaxing view of the city...

I think that top one is a Coopers Hawk? We have at least one pair nesting at Dufferin Grove. I saw one of them swooping down and landing on the Maker Bean cafe sign on the weekend, which is not its natural habitat... I've seen them sitting on our backyard tree on occasion, but not recently. We had a good view of one on the power lines in our laneway a few weeks ago.

@evandyk said it might be this: (Cooper's Hawk)

I disagree. I think its a Red Tailed Hawk.

Cooper's Hawk's have that speckled chest, where Red Tails have a more prominent white breast, especially when young.

Here's a good resource:

That makes sense. Red-tailed hawks also prefer a more open area vs coopers hawks, which like forested/urban areas more, so the location makes sense for them.
