Not really in the context of the notion of a name being “foisted on the majority.”
I hear you and agree that a name is a name as far as its 'public exposure' is concerned and I certainly find many condo names are 'annoying' and misleading but I doubt most people would think we have a 'right' to select names of private things while most would think that 'the public' DOES have a right to select the name of a public building/place.

After sitting with it for a couple daysI think that, despite the number of syllables, Ookwemin Minising rolls off the tongue better than, say, Liberty Village or Upper Beaches. It'll be fine.
Yeah it's not bad. I do appreciate that this back and forth has given me plenty of practice with the word so that I'm ready to go should it come up in the future.

I do find the long words might look intimidating for some of these names but the pronunciation usually isn't bad. Hearing it out loud makes it easier to remember.

The traffic signals at Old Cherry St and Commissioners St were disabled early this morning, then removed at some point during the day. It was an entirely uncontrolled intersection as of around 5:30 pm earlier this evening. I assume a more permanent installation will be going in soon? I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning...

UPDATE (7:45 am)

No traffic lights, but new poles are being driven into the ground at the intersection.

I was just there and think the traffic lights at Commissioners @ Old Cherry are gone for good. "They" have just built up the curb on SOUTH side of Commissioners (opposite Old Cherry) and this is no longer an entrance - all trucks get to the site by the entrance further west, nearer the new bridge.

The lights at Commissioners & Polson are also gone but I assume these may be reinstalled as they need a safe way for cyclists to get from the (newish) bike track on west side of Commissioners to the old section on the east side en route to Cherry Beach - which they appear to be getting ready to re-pave.

Taken 5 November. I believe that this formation of cut boulders is for fisherman and reposers.

Apologies if this has already been posted here. It gives a pretty comprehensive look at the most recent work!
Good video. Thanks for sharing.

Weird that the drone never focused or really zoomed in on one of the most interesting sections of the entire area - the badlands and Owl section.

Great shots, a couple of comments.

1. They appear to have closed the north plug again. It seemed to be partly open last week.

2. Work on the westbound side of the Lake Shore Blvd bridge seems to be moving on but not fast. When is the bridge supposed to be fully open again?
