That's the ontario line
No, the Ontario Line platforms are incorporated into the main station. The bridge and north building will allow climate-controlled access to the TOD that will eventually subsume the building, while also allowing people to walk to the north side of the street without having to cross the road at ground level, adding convenience and safety. (After games, the number of people streaming across the street could be problematic for traffic.)

But will the Food Building be accessible during non-CNE days, for food and drinks?

No.

Walter, as I said before it's not simply unlocking the door and sitting down.

There's operating costs like water, hydro, cleaning etc which for a property that size isn't minimal.

They would be better served renting space at the National Trade Center or Automotive Building which are operational year round for events. They already have staff and the operating costs are sunk given that they open 365 days a year.

First thing people will see when arriving from the Station will be the back of that Warehouse. If this was Cities Skylines I would definitely rotate the food building or something lol

I never understood the appeal of the Food Building. Maybe the entrance and signage have some architectural value but the building itself is a warehouse shack. CNE food trucks are almost always better than the mostly standard fast food fare you can get year-round anywhere else, except that here's its marked up +50%.

I'd rather it become a public square or park that's activated before/after games at BMO Field which makes even more sense with Exhibition Station right across.

Will the 29/929 Dufferin bus route connect to Exhibition Station once construction is finished?

Will the 29/929 Dufferin bus route connect to Exhibition Station once construction is finished?

Yes. Two routes are being studied. Via East Liberty or a new street that will run along the rail corridor. East Liberty to me makes the most sense as it’ll serve a dense neighbourhood whereas the new street will just bypass it.

Not to get too far off topic but you can't really do the CNE without a functional food building.

I would suspect that some vendors (Maggie's and Primo for example) have long term leases there. Opening before and after events would mean staffing all the booths which may or may not be practical.

Would I like to see it operating for large events like the Indy or the World Cup? Yes.

Does any one person have deep enough pockets to pay the operating costs per year to do so? Likely not.

Anyway.. back on topic!

What surprises me the most is that Metrolinx seems to be actually building that station.. it hasn't been value-engineered a la East Harbour.

Welp, @innsertnamehere has jinxed us now!! We can expect the resigned station any day now. Main selling features will be:
  • Fresh air and lots of natural light due to removal of roof
  • Removal of bridge over the new street to encourage pedestrian activity at ground level
  • 50 shades of grey everywhere coz of clean look
  • Reduce scope of station building to save cost! Somehow cost will increase tho. Don't ask me how!
/s

It's scary how likely this change is tho!
