Awesome shots. I can't remember and not able to look it up at the moment. Is the OL going to dip under the Richmond Hill Line/Bala Sub and then proceed into the tunnel? (roughly annotated below).

Almost the entire extent of current excavation will be capped over, they’ll run the Bala tracks overtop of this, then they’ll continue excavation of the OL slope where the Bala tracks currently cross.

this. They are starting the concrete pours for the cut-and-cover tunnel now and once all that is cured and ready to bear weight they will be shifting the Bala sub over so they can build the portal where the Bala sub and turnout currently sit.

Can we take a moment for the bridge work. I gotta admit, these new bridges are looking great.

I remember joking with the workers on Dundas Street East about how fast they got that bridge done which made them laugh.

Such clean work...

Then I remembered there was another bridge right around the corner on Logan Avenue. Sure enough, it's the same crew...

This lead me up to Gerrard Square and the Pedestrian Bridge the crosses over the tracks. Lots of clearing work...

Then I headed back down to Queen Street. That bridge has had all the pedestrian canopies removed. I thought they were done but nope the old bridge is still there (for now), right alongside the new one.

I gotta admit, the Eastern Avenue Bridge (Transit Hub) looks really clean.

I drove under the Eastern bridge today. It really is high, bright, and "clean", especially compared to the old bridge

The old bridge section is due to be demolished next weekend.

Some nice progress on the OL.

The city still desperately needs another subway line parallel to Bloor, south of Bloor running from Kipling to Vic Park though in my opinion.

This is probably worth a new thread, but I am very curious about the next wave of subway projects. Clearly a Sheppard extension is coming, but after that it's a big question mark.

OL extensions at both ends are possible of course. I would also advocate for a subway in the College/Dundas/Gerrard corridor; additionally, since the QQE LRT is going nowhere, it's interesting to think about whether some kind of waterfront line might feasible, perhaps connecting to East Harbour.

Then in the outer 416, still lots of corridors unserved. Jane and Dufferin come to mind.

Is there a thread for the next hypothetical subway, non-lrt, project? I have been curious about this too.

There is some chatter that the Burlington-Oshawa 407 Transit project in MX's 2051 document could be an express metro, but that is not guaranteed and it could just as easily be a busway or GO rail.

Either way I do agree that even after Line 3 is built there will need to be at least one more east-west line south of Bloor. Perhaps that just looks like turning King Street into a proper LRT and introducing way more transit priority on all other E-W streetcar corridors.

It depends what that project would be. The Line 4 extensions seem hypothetical at this point.

There's the 407 Transitway thread - which is quiet enough it can easily cover extensions and different technologies.

Also there's been a bit of discussion of the Burlington-Oshawa project in the 2051 document in the Ontario Line north thread - because 2051 implied that it would be the same technology, with the Ontario Line, which would be extended northward from Eglinton/Don Mills to the 407, and then west along the transitway to Pearson, and south to Kipling station.

Let's start a thread if one does not already exist.

Jane and Dufferin are the two most obvious N/S corridors that need some higher capacity transit. Maybe the Ontario Line's western extension will service that need. One or the other, maybe both. Either one could also be an LRT potentially, but it's hard to imagine an at grade LRT south of Eglinton due to restricted width.

Without veering too far off topic it would be so transformative for Toronto to have a line that traverses either Dundas, Queen, King, Wellington or Front, or some combination of them from Etobicoke to Scarborough.

However, unlike with Lines 1 & 2 I don't think it should replace any of the streetcar services, but rather act as a compliment to them. Something closer to 1-2 km stop spacing, where the streetcar still serves local trips. I just think the streetcars aren't best used when moving across longer distances of over 5km.
