Photos taken today, Friday (May 1). Not much visible progress on the tower itself since I posted last Friday, but more of the sections of the Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) which installed the skin have been removed.

There does seem to be some progress on the crown, the tuned damper at top seems to be more enclosed. As for the RCSs, there were 9 sections hanging from a truss on each of the three sides, east, west and north, for a total of 27 sections. As of last week, 5 sections had been taken down. Now, an additional 2 have been removed, 1 each from the east and north RCSs, and while as I was there, I was told another section on the east RCS was to be removed late Friday afternoon, the section closest to the crane. So if there are now 5 sections left on the east side, then that was done. So 20 sections left, maybe now 19 sections as I post, then the 3 trusses are last to go.

Saw a bit of the process today, where a section is hoisted to the 6th-floor roof to the south of the main tower, then the cables are reattached to lift the section sideways to be placed on a flatbed at street level.

Truly appreciate your dedication to documenting the construction of this building for these many years. Chef's kiss!

This truck driver, traveling SB on Yonge from 1 Bloor W, didn’t think he could make it under the bridge so he turned onto the Esplanade.
Then he had a hard time trying to back up. Not an experienced driver in my opinion.

Checking the height with a tape measure but maybe navigating around the electical boom trucks was the issue.

Wouldn't going down Spadina been better as that goes over the tracks instead of under?

Photos taken today, Friday (May 8th). No visible progress on the tower since I posted last Friday, except for the removal of one of the segments of the east Rail Climbing System (RCS) which happened later that Friday afternoon. So, now 19 of 27 segments of the RCSs are left - the RCSs installed the skin. When I talked to some of the crew last week, I asked about the trusses from which the segments hang, whether that'll need a weekend street closure. I was told that wasn't needed, as each truss can be placed on the roof of level 6 to the south of the main tower, and disassembled there before being hoisted onto flatbeds on the street.
