Yes, a certain degree of reflection and many fond memories were part of my attachment to it but really, it’s only because I’m getting a new one.While it’s sad you have to split with an excellent piece of technology, it’s probably for the best.

Photos taken today, Friday (May 1). Not much visible progress on the tower itself since I posted last Friday, but more of the sections of the Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) which installed the skin have been removed.
There does seem to be some progress on the crown, the tuned damper at top seems to be more enclosed. As for the RCSs, there were 9 sections hanging from a truss on each of the three sides, east, west and north, for a total of 27 sections. As of last week, 5 sections had been taken down. Now, an additional 2 have been removed, 1 each from the east and north RCSs, and while as I was there, I was told another section on the east RCS was to be removed late Friday afternoon, the section closest to the crane. So if there are now 5 sections left on the east side, then that was done. So 20 sections left, maybe now 19 sections as I post, then the 3 trusses are last to go.
Saw a bit of the process today, where a section is hoisted to the 6th-floor roof to the south of the main tower, then the cables are reattached to lift the section sideways to be placed on a flatbed at street level.
