This Evening.
So does this mean that there’s even the slightest, tiniest, chance that this gets build to floor 91 (if the info you received is correct) or is this just my never ending and ongoing delusion of tridel doing a switch up, and building to 91 floors? The reason why the last mechanical floor is so close to the previous one is because Tridel is hoping to build to floor 96.
91 was approved, but they rescinded that plan pending their (successful) bid approval by the court. Tridel has rebranded the building, and is beginning to feel confident about allocating the additional resources pro-rata to build to the extended version of the building, if finally approved by Toronto council.
That's what I was told, at least, by someone close to the project.

I agree, You can't change the super columns from rebar to I-Beams as the loads to carry the floor loads are different than open space.Yeah I'm going to say that with the vertical steel that is peeking from above the columns that we are at our final height would seem stupid if tridel hit pause on construction while they waited or a variance they may not get and rack up further bills
Interesting way to describe load pathsthe loads to carry the floor loads
Funny thing about perspective: the further you are, the taller 1 Bloor W looks vs 1 Bloor E
Incredible photos as always!Photos taken today, Friday (May 16). The blue forms at top have moved up a level, as has the central core... almost at 300 m presumably... Floor 85+? The corner blue forms have moved up as well, to level 75 or so, it seems. The black Rail Climbing Systems are at level 59, save for the east one, at level 60, and we see some of the 60th floor windows installed on the south face.
A pile of shots, including another one of that King Edward equestrian statue at Queen's Park - this time, the king seems to be glancing in the direction of the tower (the focus on the other photos posted by another member last week was slightly different...)
And a few shots showing the new Tridel signs installed this past week.

From October, 2020, as above-ground construction started in earnest at The One (1 Bloor W.) in Toronto. More or less a weekly photo usually taken on a Friday, with some gaps during early-on construction hiatuses. At least the photo with the equestrian statue is much more dignified.Photos taken today, Friday (May 16). This makes no sense, as the height increase was already approved by council and doesn’t need approval again. The reason why the last mechanical floor is so close to the previous one is because Tridel is hoping to build to floor 96.
