Full Closure of Lake Shore Boulevard East and Don Valley Parkway Ramp: Sunday, July 13th at 9:00 p.m. to Thursday, July 24th at 5:00 a.m.

The Don Valley Parkway Ramps off Lake Shore Boulevard will be closed due to construction for the new Lake Shore Bridge. Detours will be in place. For westbound traffic on Lake Shore, access to the northbound DVP will be via the Queen Street on-ramp and Carlaw Avenue. For southbound traffic on the DVP, access to Lake Shore Boulevard will be via the exit at Richmond Street and Sherbourne Street. The dedicated right-turn lane on Lake Shore Boulevard East approaching the ramps at Don Roadway will be closed.

This closure is the last step before reopening the new Lake Shore Bridge and Boulevard, which will make traffic much smoother across Lake Shore. During this closure, we will rebuild the ramps to match the higher elevation of the newly built Lake Shore Bridge and Boulevard.

What thread has all the Biidaasige stuff?

Google appears to be in the process of updating in Canada (by update I mean imagery from the last 2 years).

I got a little adventurous this morning. Technically, there was no signage saying I couldn't 😈

There is literally no space whatsoever on this side for a sidewalk. The Blvd, the supports for the Gardiner and the Keating Channel take up all the space once you get off this bridge on the south side. Maybe if they place some kind of concrete overhang on the Keating Channel maybe? The old ramp above it appears to be being dismantled, so maybe that will make some room for a sidewalk.

I walked around to the east side of the bridge as well. They have some paving on the side of the road but I could not get close to the bridge.

With all the design consideration throughout the Portlands, these bridges are huge misstep. Maybe too difficult of a design challenge with the old Gardiner columns still in the way. Only if the reconstruction of the DVP / Gardiner ramps could have been sequenced first.
