Oh they even laid some tracks between Fairview and the CP rail bridge. From my walk home today:
Hydro moved those poles and did the connections on the northbound side months ago.Cannot be touch until commutation wires are remove from polex that need to be remove and relocated to open the southbound curb lane as well the northbound poles with hydro installing new poles on the east side to allow building of the new northbound lane.
It been said some work will happen this year with hudro doing work in 2026 and all hydro.being completed in 2027 for the whole corridor.
Was ecpecting ties being installed south of Fairview after the Centreal Pkwt-Fairview was done. Now!, how long will it be before forming of the tracks take place to pour the concrete in place for the ties leaveing the tracks exposed?? Then, when will the guideway be built in 2 phases for the Fairview intersection and will it happen before King and Dundas intersections that were to be done months ago??
Yeah, me too. I usually only drive that stretch for the QEW to Mineola on the weekend. The northbound stretch is absolutely brutal with sunken and uneven pavement.I only drive on Hurontario when I absolutely have to. I am lucky I never have to at peak times. But even off-peak it's quite busy and the timing of traffic lights (like all of Mississauga) is garbage.
If you look closely, there are poles to be remove as well relocate for the northbound that haven't been touch since 2023/24, If you look at my photos for Zone 2, you will see what has to happen first before they can do the guideway work in the centre of the road as well on the side of the road. Mineola intersection is a good example how the rest of Zone 2 has to be built road, sidewalk and guideway wise. If you review your videos you will see the samething. Until Bell, Rogers and who everylese has cables on the existing pole remove or relocates them, poles cannot be remove.Hydro moved those poles and did the connections on the northbound side months ago.
It’s nice there’s confederation to the east but a similar road on the west would have been very useful. Once all the development takes place it’s going to be a nightmare to get to the qew and the Milton line will still not be done.Yeah, me too. I usually only drive that stretch for the QEW to Mineola on the weekend. The northbound stretch is absolutely brutal with sunken and uneven pavement.
I love dog piling on those jabronis as much as the next guy (because they deserve it most of the time) but I genuinely think with Hurontario the majority of the recent issues lie with the contractor consortium.Quite honestly, I don't think Metrolinx could build a cardboard box.
I'd imagine that PNR found more deficiencies than ML would take months to find and is laying tracks where things are done properly and waiting for things to be fixed where they are not so they can actually do things instead of twiddling their fingers. They probably just want to get paid and get out at that point. What gets me, WHY did PNR start laying track south of Central Pkwy in place of Burnhamorpe??
Oh 100%, but ML also needs to pull their weight in the sense that they can't put 95% of their trust in the consortium to do all the work and then come back and say things aren't being done properly. It's not like I'm asking for hands to be held, but if ML is the one paying the consortium for work being completed, they really should be taking more initiative to be on the ground to inspect things even if the consortium is telling them things are being done right, or things are okay, and so on.I love dog piling on those jabronis as much as the next guy (because they deserve it most of the time) but I genuinely think with Hurontario the majority of the recent issues lie with the contractor consortium.
Having to rip up tracks that were laid wrong, and not being able to pay their subcontractors causing them to get their credit rating downgraded isn't MX's fault...
