It's unfortunate but at the end of the day, Metrolinx should never have shown that connection unless they intended to expropriate the parking lot (which is private property). As things stand now, no, it's not happening.

The last update I was able to find is this RFI which closed in Oct 2024. I believe this was to firm up the final design, so it still needs to be tendered out for construction. I would be pleasantly surprised if this project begins in 2025.

I am so frustrated at how little information there is out on this. I've been working on writing a long angry email and cc'ing everyone from Alejandra Bravo , Marit Stiles, the City and Metrolinx. The last community consultation meeting was May 16, 2024 so almost a year ago.

This linear park can be so transformative for the community, linking parks all the way from Erwin Kerchwin to Campbell Park through Davenport Village Park to Earlscourt Park, and through that almost all the way to the York Beltline Trail. No one in any elected position seems to be pushing for what could be one of the longest stretches of pedestrian and cyclist friendly spaces in the city.
