Toronto’s next transit megaproject should be to finally fix the ceilings in all stations. The state of some stations is beyond embarrassing.

NYC used to be the poster child for poor SOGR but they have largely renovated the worst decaying stations. Toronto is definitely worse now.

The ceilings are already part of an ongoing project to replace and modernize aging infrastructure in the subway stations which has been ongoing for a while. They’ll be replaced when that work is complete. It takes an exceptionally long time for them to complete this work due to the fact that they can only do this work when the subway is closed at night.

It was said further upthread that the sign was programmed in the subway style, not the legacy network style.

Some cars are set up that way. Some cars are set up to display like the legacy network. And a couple of other cars have other, one-off configurations.

It appears that they are still testing what kind of display configuration they want to use for revenue service, and are using these different configurations to see which one they like the most. I would not assume that they have settled on a configuration as yet.

Right now the transit signal light turns red 10secs before the traffic light turns red, but once a transit vehicle is approaching the transit signal will turn green for an additional 10 secs according to the YouTube page Transit thinker

How the lights are currently configured is how I understand the lights will remain once service starts.

The issue stems from the amount of time that a 300 foot long set of coupled vehicles will take to clear the intersection, especially one that is decelerating to a stop. It obviously will take longer than a single auto accelerating through a stale yellow.

Seeing no LRV's from Kennedy to the DVP,, there was no need today to sit and check out a few things that I wanted to see..

Some roadwork is taking place in a few spot and a crew was checking stations.

there was at least 1 on that stretch this morning. I saw it coming off the DVP on eglinton.

Saw one at VP and Eglinton around 5PM today.

I spotted 2 trains running along Eglinton at Leslie yesterday. The westbound train was running fine. The eastbound train was in emergency beside me the entire time I was waiting to make the E to N turn.

There are seemingly random lane closures still along the surface still taking place.

What do you mean it "was in emergency" - like a planned test? Or some unexpected emergency happened?

Emergency as in the car was stopped with its 4 ways on, and gong constantly going off. I noticed a gentleman next to the operator on a phone or radio seemingly trying to remedy the situation. Methinks the cars are still having technical issues.
