I was actually pleasantly surprised at how big it feels given it’s so much smaller than the Nordstrom.

They cram a lot in there and it feels more enclosed but still pretty comfortable.

The store looks great, though I sense they might've overdone it just a bit, feels a bit cluttered. Maybe I'm just used to the vast expanses of Eatons/Sears/Nordstrom which could feel a bit empty at times.

The connection between the main mall and the Dundas atrium feels seamless, like it was always there. It's a natural continuation of this walkway:

The temporary section between the still-in-construction Eataly and Nike will look and feel more airy once those stores open on the right and left in this picture.

No word of when Eataly opens, but Nike is likely to precede it in the next few weeks.

Moving Pictures...

...does anyone else start to suffer vertigo in the presence of a lot of wall sized animated displays? >.<

Eataly's sign is up:

This black curtain looks so much nicer than the frilly white ones they put up for the store reveal.

I had another peek at Nike behind the curtain and they've installed all the framing for the front entrance and signage, just cladding and glass left to go. The interior is all wrapped up.

Forgot to share this. It’s a few days old so it’s probably more complete by now but you can see that there’ll be a video arch around the entrance.

It’ll be quite flashy and I’m looking forward to more of this end of the Eaton Centre feeling finished rather than the construction site it’s been for 2 years.

The new Nike flagship Eaton Centre store opens on Thursday.

Just did some shopping. Nike really stands out walking up the Eaton Centre galleria.

The store is finished but looks like they had some problem with the fritted glass vinyl they had applied across the bottom section of the exterior. You can see the façade supports through the glass. That part would look better if the display arch carried up.

The store is gorgeous inside and expansive but I do feel it was a mistake to cut off the view from the second floor. Perhaps there’s a reason, Simons did the same. Are they afraid of Urban Toronto enthusiasts hogging up all the space up there for the view? 😒
