And now we can start the clock on how much longer this one will take.

Based on walking by this every morning on my way to work I am going to say the west building will be ready to move in for 1 September and some retail by Xmas Market time. 🤞😉

retail def no.

ive learnt that this is the building Mandy's is going into, and they are not starting their fit out until 2026 based on substantial completion timing

^And everyone (myself included) ignores the small condo building at Mill/Cherry which looks like it will start PDI very soon. And although I have no knowledge of what retail is planned there I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a bougie café with a liquor license!

Tricon just updated their website with a dedicated page for Cherry House. It's just a registration page with very few details.

There’s no retail in there. Just lobby and servicing. It’s a tiny footprint.

I see no permit applications for Mandy’s or occupancy for any residential, so likely a while out for both. They still don’t even have Site Plan approval yet.

On the side, I am still debating with myself as to why I like this project more than Northern Light-san does... >.<

This building, at least viewed from the west, looks REALLY cheap. The unpleasant pink 'brick' was bad enough but it has been enhanced with what looks like cheap siding on the upper floors. Strangely, the building at Mill & Cherry that is part of the complex looks quite sharp so they do know how to do things right. Sad!!

One of the rare projects that looks better up close than from afar.

From a distance, I find it looks a bit cold and institutional. I previously used the example of a mega-sized student dorm or lecture building.

However, at street level, the staggered salmon precast and protruding storefronts make the development more interesting.
