What I don't get is why, now that the building is largely complete, is the adjacent lane suddenly blocked off for traffic?? It's utterly infuriating...

Stupid question probably but is the intent to keep the 'brick' facade on Dundas grey while the sides are a reddish/orange?? Given the overall incoherent design, I'm guessing yes.

From about an hour ago...I think I'd almost like this more if they left the Dundas frontage gray, it's a fitting touch to an already clunky eyesore. This may have been the best I've ever seen this building so far.

Hard to compare though. The tower is mildly better than "Design" Haus...whilst the podium is a different beast kinda of bad here. That is, "D"H's podium was a cheap/VE knock off a heritage portion they torn down and put a soulless Toronto grey spandrel'd tower on top that spoke nothing to the heritage that was there..
...while this..is not even trying, IMO. That is, it's a funeral grey Soviet style office podium they slapped paint on ever end and called it a Gucci, at best. /sigh

About those curves ...
They're not even real. In person, you can clearly see how junky and cheap the curves out. They couldn't even do the building's dominant feature correctly.

I mean the "curves" where design to distract from the grey spandrel'd monstrosity it's trying to hide. So that Prada your claiming to wear, Tribute and G+C is a cheap knock off here... /sigh
